Team Liquid Cafe App — Community Guidelines
§1 About These Guidelines
These Community Guidelines explain how we expect everyone to behave when using the Team Liquid Cafe App. They apply to all users, in every feature of the App — messaging, chat, social features, event participation, and any other interaction with the community.
These guidelines are part of our App Terms and Conditions (teamliquid.cafe/tos). If you use the App, you agree to follow them. If these guidelines and the App Terms conflict, the App Terms take precedence.
The App is operated by Friendly Fire, Inc.. When we say "we" or "us" in these guidelines, we mean Friendly Fire, Inc..
§2 Our Values
Team Liquid Cafe is built around gaming — and gaming is better when everyone feels welcome.
We want the Team Liquid Cafe App community to be:
- Fun — a place to enjoy games, discover events, and connect with other players
- Inclusive — welcoming to everyone, regardless of background, skill level, or how they play
- Respectful — competitive but never cruel
- Safe — free from harassment, hate, and abuse
§3 Expected Behavior
Be the kind of player you want to play with.
- Be respectful. Treat other users and staff the way you want to be treated — even when you disagree or lose a match.
- Be welcoming. New players, casual gamers, and seasoned competitors all belong here. Help people feel included.
- Keep it fun. Friendly banter and competitive spirit are great. Know where the line is.
- Play fair. Follow game rules and tournament rules. Win with grace, lose with dignity.
- Speak up. If you see something that breaks these guidelines, report it. You help keep the community safe.
§4 Prohibited Behavior
The following behavior will not be tolerated in the Team Liquid Cafe App. This list is not exhaustive — we may take action against any behavior that harms the community.
Harassment and Bullying
Do not harass, bully, threaten, stalk, or intimidate anyone. This includes:
- Repeated unwanted messages or contact
- Personal attacks, insults, or name-calling
- Threatening violence or harm
- Encouraging others to harass someone
- Targeting someone because of a loss, disagreement, or in-game conflict
Hate Speech and Discrimination
Do not post or promote content that attacks people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic.
Spam and Scams
Do not:
- Send unsolicited advertising, promotions, or commercial messages
- Spam chat or messaging features with repetitive content
- Post scam links, phishing attempts, or misleading offers
- Promote third-party products or services without our permission
Impersonation
Do not pretend to be another user, a Team Liquid Cafe staff member, or any other person or entity. Parody and fan accounts must be clearly labeled as such.
Illegal Content and Activity
Do not use the App to share illegal content or to plan, promote, or engage in illegal activity. This includes but is not limited to sharing pirated content, selling controlled substances, or facilitating fraud.
Cheating and Exploitation
Do not manipulate, exploit, or abuse App features. This includes:
- Using bots, scripts, or automated tools to interact with the App
- Exploiting bugs or glitches instead of reporting them
- Manipulating loyalty features, Coins, LP, or event registrations
- Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions
Doxxing and Privacy Violations
Do not share another person's personal information without their consent. This includes real names, addresses, phone numbers, photos, workplace information, or any other identifying details.
Sexual Content
The Team Liquid Cafe App is used by people of all ages. Do not post sexually explicit content, sexual solicitation, or sexually suggestive messages.
Toxicity in Competition
Competitive gaming is part of our culture — trash talk is not automatically a violation. But there is a line:
- Trash talk crosses the line when it becomes personal attacks, threats, or targets someone's identity
- Rage-quitting, griefing, or intentionally ruining others' experience is not acceptable
- Gloating or taunting to the point of harassment is not okay
§5 Content Rules
The App includes messaging, chat, and social features. When you use them:
- Keep it appropriate. All content must be suitable for a general audience, including minors.
- No illegal content. Do not share anything that violates the law.
- No harmful content. Do not share content that promotes self-harm, eating disorders, or dangerous activities.
- Respect copyright. Do not share content you do not have the right to share. See the App Terms (teamliquid.cafe/tos) for our copyright policy.
- No misinformation. Do not deliberately spread false or misleading information.
Messages and social content in the App are temporary — they may disappear after a period of time.
§6 Venue Behavior
Team Liquid Cafe venues are real places where real people gather. Your behavior at a venue is governed by that venue's Terms of Service and house rules — but these Community Guidelines also apply to your use of the App while at a venue.
If your in-venue behavior involves the App (for example, harassing another user through in-app messaging while at a venue), it may result in both venue-level consequences and App-level enforcement.
§7 Moderation
We use a combination of automated tools and human review to enforce these guidelines.
Automated moderation: We use AI-powered tools to detect and flag content that may violate these guidelines. Automated tools help us moderate at scale, but they are not perfect. Flagged content may be removed or hidden while under review.
Human review: No account-level action (suspension or termination) is taken based solely on automated processing. A member of our team reviews the situation before any account action is taken.
§8 Enforcement Actions
Violations are handled through a graduated process. The action we take depends on the severity and frequency of the violation.
| Level | Action | Typical trigger |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Warning | First-time or minor violation |
| 2 | Temporary restriction | Repeated minor violations or a moderate violation. May include muting, temporary feature restrictions, or a short suspension. |
| 3 | Ban from a venue | Serious or repeated violations at or about one venue. You can no longer play or buy at that venue, for a set period or permanently. |
| 4 | Ban from every venue or account termination | Severe violations or continued misconduct after prior enforcement. You can no longer use any venue, and we may close your account. |
| 5 | Law enforcement referral | Credible threats of violence, illegal activity, or child safety concerns. We will cooperate with authorities. |
We reserve the right to skip levels for serious violations. Threats of violence, illegal activity, and child safety concerns may result in immediate termination and law enforcement referral.
§9 Reporting
If you see something that violates these guidelines, report it.
In the App: Use the report function available on messages and user profiles.
By email: Contact us at info@teamliquid.cafe with a description of what happened, including any relevant usernames or details.
All reports are reviewed. We do not reveal who made a report to the person being reported, except where required by law. Submitting false or malicious reports is itself a violation of these guidelines.
§10 Appeals
If we take action on your account and you believe it was a mistake, you can appeal.
How to appeal: Contact us at info@teamliquid.cafe with the subject line "Appeal" and explain why you believe the action was incorrect.
What happens next: A member of our team — someone other than the person who made the original decision — will review your appeal. We aim to respond within 30 days.
Human review guarantee: Every appeal is reviewed by a person, not just an automated system.
§11 Changes to These Guidelines
We may update these guidelines as the App and our community evolve. When we make changes, we will notify you through the App and update the version at teamliquid.cafe/cg.
For significant changes, we will give you advance notice. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated guidelines.
