Team Liquid Cafe App — Terms and Conditions
§1 About These Terms
Welcome to the Team Liquid Cafe App! These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Team Liquid Cafe App, including our website at teamliquid.cafe and any related digital services. Please read them carefully.
By creating an account, logging in, browsing our website, or otherwise using our digital services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use our services.
The App is operated by Friendly Fire, Inc., a corporation incorporated in Delaware, USA ("we", "us", "our"). Our contact email is info@teamliquid.cafe.
Team Liquid Cafe venues are independently owned and operated by local franchisees. Each venue has its own Terms of Service that govern your physical visit. These App Terms govern only the digital platform — the app and website. Your use of a venue is subject to that venue's own terms, which are separate from these Terms.
In short, three documents cover your experience:
- These Terms — using the app and website
- Venue Terms of Service — your visit to a specific Team Liquid Cafe venue
- Community guidelines (teamliquid.cafe/cg) — behavior standards that apply everywhere
We may update these Terms from time to time. See the Legal Terms section for details on how changes are communicated and when they take effect.
Parents and guardians: If your child uses the App, please see the Age Requirements section for information about parental consent and what features are available to minors.
§2 Your Account
To use the App's features, you must create an account. You can sign up using one of our supported login providers: Google, Apple, Instagram, TikTok, Discord.
You must provide accurate information when creating your account. If you sign in through a social login provider, we receive the profile information you authorize that provider to share with us (such as your name, email address, and profile picture).
We also verify your phone number with a one-time code. A phone number can be verified on one account only. Before you can play or buy at a venue, staff at the venue's front desk check your identity against an official ID: they confirm your full name, date of birth, and address. We do not keep a copy or photo of your ID.
You may only have one account. Creating multiple accounts may result in all of them being suspended or terminated.
You are responsible for keeping your account secure. Do not share your login credentials or let anyone else use your account. You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
If you violate these Terms or the community guidelines, we will generally issue a warning before taking further action. For repeated or serious violations — including fraud, threats of violence, or illegal activity — we may immediately ban you from one venue or from every venue, or terminate your account. We will tell you why, unless doing so would compromise an investigation or violate the law.
You can delete your account at any time in the App's account settings, or by writing to privacy@teamliquid.cafe from the email address on your account. Your account is deleted 30 days after your request; if you sign in again during that time, the deletion is cancelled. The privacy policy (teamliquid.cafe/privacy) explains what is deleted and which records the law requires us to keep.
§3 Using the App
The Team Liquid Cafe App is a companion app for the Team Liquid Cafe gaming cafe network. It provides the following features:
- Loyalty program — track your Coins and earn and spend LP (see below)
- Venue check-in — check in at Team Liquid Cafe venues
- Station and seat booking — reserve gaming stations in advance
- Event discovery — browse and register for gaming events and tournaments
- Food and drink menus — view venue menus (ordering and payment happen at the venue, not through the app)
- Social features — messaging, chat, and social interactions with other users
- Notifications — venue news, event reminders, and promotions
Coins and LP
Coins pay for play time at Team Liquid Cafe venues. Coins are bought at a venue — not through the App. Coins you receive without paying, for example as a reward, are free Coins. LP (Liquid Points) are earned at venues and spent on rewards that you pick up at a venue. The App shows your Coins and LP balances and their history.
Coins and LP have no real-world monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash. The venue where you buy Coins sets their price, and that venue's Terms of Service cover the purchase. If your balance looks wrong, ask the staff at a venue or contact us at info@teamliquid.cafe.
Payments
The App does not process any payments. There are no in-app purchases, subscriptions, or any form of billing through the App. All payments for Team Liquid Cafe services and products happen at the venue.
Acceptable Use
You may use the App only for its intended purposes — as a personal companion tool for your Team Liquid Cafe experience. You may not use the App for any commercial purpose, to scrape or harvest data, or in any way that interferes with the App's operation or other users' experience.
Advertising
The App displays advertising through our own ad network. This includes banner ads and curated partner content (such as promotions from gaming brands or local businesses). Ads are labeled so you can distinguish them from regular content. We do not use third-party advertising networks such as Google Ads. We do not build personal advertising profiles or use behavioural profiling to target ads.
Updates and Availability
We may update the App from time to time to add features, fix bugs, or improve performance. Some updates may be required for the App to continue working. We will try to give you advance notice of major changes, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access to the App.
§4 Community Standards
The Team Liquid Cafe App includes messaging, chat, and social features. When you use these features, you agree to follow our community guidelines (available at teamliquid.cafe/cg).
You must not use the App to:
- Harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate anyone
- Post hate speech or content that promotes discrimination on any basis
- Spam, advertise, or send unsolicited promotions
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Share illegal content or promote illegal activity
- Attempt to manipulate, exploit, or abuse the App's features
We use automated tools, including artificial intelligence, to help moderate content in the App. These tools may flag or remove messages that appear to violate our community guidelines. To perform this moderation, message content may be shared with our third-party AI service providers (see the privacy policy at teamliquid.cafe/privacy). Automated moderation is not perfect — you have the right to contest any automated moderation decision. Contact us at info@teamliquid.cafe and a member of our team will review your case. No account suspension or termination is carried out based solely on automated processing — a member of our team makes the final determination before any account-level action is taken.
Violating the community guidelines or these Terms may result in a warning, a ban from one venue or from every venue, or termination of your account. Serious violations (such as threats of violence or illegal activity) may be reported to law enforcement.
§5 Content and Intellectual Property
Your Content
The App allows you to post text content and send messages to other users. Content you create remains yours — we do not claim ownership of your messages or posts.
In plain terms: We need a license to your messages so they can appear to other users, and so we can moderate content for safety. That is all we use it for — we do not use your content for advertising, training, or any other commercial purpose.
By posting content in the App, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, distribute, store, process, and analyze your content as needed to operate and moderate the App, including through third-party service providers. This license ends when you delete your content or your account, except where we are required by law to retain a copy. Any processing of personal data contained in your content is carried out in accordance with our privacy policy, not solely on the basis of this license.
Messages and social content in the App are temporary — they may disappear after a period of time. We do not guarantee that your content will remain available indefinitely. Do not use the App as your only record of important information.
Copyright
We respect intellectual property rights and comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512.
To submit a copyright takedown notice, send a written notice to our designated DMCA agent at info@teamliquid.cafe that includes all of the following elements required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3):
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or their authorized agent
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or a representative list if multiple works are covered)
- Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, with information reasonably sufficient for us to locate it in the App
- Your contact information (address, telephone number, and email address)
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the copyright owner's behalf
Counter-notification: If your content was removed and you believe the takedown was in error or the result of misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g) to the same address, including: your physical or electronic signature; identification of the material removed and its location before removal; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, address, and telephone number; and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your judicial district (or, if outside the US, any judicial district in which we are located), and that you will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original takedown notice.
We may terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe others' intellectual property rights.
Our Intellectual Property
The App, its design, code, graphics, logos, and all related intellectual property belong to Friendly Fire, Inc. or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the App or any of its contents, except as expressly permitted by these Terms or applicable law.
"Team Liquid Cafe," the Team Liquid Cafe logo, and related marks are trademarks of Friendly Fire, Inc.. You may not use our trademarks without our prior written permission.
§6 Privacy and Data
Our privacy policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who receives it, how long we keep it, and your rights. Read it at teamliquid.cafe/privacy. For privacy questions, contact privacy@teamliquid.cafe.
§7 Age Requirements
There is no minimum age to create a Team Liquid Cafe App account. However, a new account has no features enabled by default — you cannot use the App's services until your age is confirmed.
To access the App's features (loyalty program, check-in, booking, messaging, and social features), you must confirm your age. In the United States, parental consent is required if you are under 13. In the European Union and most other regions, parental consent is required if you are under 16 (or a lower age set by your country's law). The App will display the threshold that applies to your location when you create your account.
When parental consent is required, we will email the parent or guardian's address you provide during registration. To give consent, the parent must open that email, visit our consent portal, verify their identity through our age-verification portal, and approve. Features will not be available until the parent completes this step. If consent is not received within 14 days, the account and its data will be deleted.
Children's Privacy (United States)
For users in the United States under the age of 13: we comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13 without proper consent, we will delete that data promptly. Parents can contact us at privacy@teamliquid.cafe to review, delete, or withdraw consent for their child's data.
Individual venues may have additional age requirements for physical access. See the venue's own Terms of Service for details on minimum age, parental consent for visits, and any curfew rules that may apply.
§8 Legal Terms
Disclaimers
The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do our best to keep the App running smoothly, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of security vulnerabilities. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the App's fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or non-infringement.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Friendly Fire, Inc.'s total liability to you for any claims arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of the App is limited to USD 100.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill — arising from your use of the App.
If you are a consumer in the European Union or European Economic Area, the limitations above do not affect your mandatory consumer rights under applicable EU law, including rights under the Unfair Contract Terms Directive (93/13/EEC) or your rights under the Digital Content Directive (2019/770). Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation. These limitations also do not restrict any right to compensation you may have under applicable data protection law.
Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising out of these Terms that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the courts of Delaware, USA — except that if you are a consumer in the European Union or European Economic Area, you may bring proceedings in the courts of the EU member state where you are domiciled, and nothing in these Terms prevents you from relying on any mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country in which you reside. Before starting any legal proceeding, we encourage you to contact us at info@teamliquid.cafe to try to resolve the issue directly.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you by email and through the App at least 30 days before changes take effect. If you do not agree with the changes, you may stop using the App and delete your account. The current version of these Terms is always available at teamliquid.cafe/tos.
Force Majeure
We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform our obligations under these Terms caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, power or infrastructure outages, government actions, pandemics, or disruptions to third-party services we depend on.
Severability
If a court finds that any part of these Terms cannot be enforced, only that part is affected — the rest of these Terms continue to apply unchanged.
Waiver
If we do not enforce a right or rule right away, that does not mean we have given it up. We can still enforce it later.
Survival
The following sections survive termination or deletion of your account: Content and Intellectual Property (for content posted during the term), Privacy and Data (data retention and your data rights), Limitation of Liability, Governing Law and Disputes, and this Survival section.
Assignment
We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another entity — for example, in the event of a merger or acquisition — provided that the new entity takes on the same obligations to you. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms to anyone else without our written consent.
These Terms, together with the community guidelines, make up the entire agreement between you and Friendly Fire, Inc. regarding the App. Venue-specific terms are separate agreements between you and the venue operator.
